Danfoss Wins 2010 AHR Expo® Product Of The Year Award

Westport, CT (Vocus) February 8, 2010 -- Danfoss’ Performer VSD, a variable speed compressor for residential use was selected as the AHR Expo Product of the Year Award. The award ceremony was held during the 62nd AHR Expo, January 25-27, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

The innovative variable speed compressor was chosen from among the nine category-winners of the 2010 AHR Expo Innovation Awards, an industry-wide competition designed to promote and encourage product innovation. Danfoss won the prestigious Innovation Award in the ‘Green Building’ category and then was selected from among the nine winners to earn the ultimate honor, the AHR Expo Product of the Year Award for 2010. Thirty-two products received ‘Honorable Mentions.’

“We are proud to receive this Award because it is welcome proof of the continuing Danfoss commitment to energy efficiency achieved through engineering innovation,” said Stephen Gugliotta, director of sales for Danfoss Air Conditioning.

The 2010 AHR Expo Innovation Award entry fees totaled nearly $11,000 and were presented to the Jacksonville Police Athletic League (JAXPAL) to help install a new HVAC control system. Since 2004, more than $45,000 has been donated to vocational schools and humanitarian projects for communities in states where the Show is being held.

The Innovation Awards are jointly sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI); and International Exposition Company (IEC), producers and organizers of the AHR Expo. Only one product per company may be submitted in each category and winning products from previous years cannot be re-entered.
